Lab Orders
The Lab Orders and Tracking module helps your office track the various labs that physicians order during a patient visit. With this module Physicians can send labs electronically to most labs with an HL-7 enabled interface. Currently, physicians can use this module to send lab requests to Quest Diagnostics.

The Lab orders / tracking module assist the office in tracking the various labs that the physician has ordered for patients during the visit. Our lab order module is HL-7 compatible and currently interfaced with Quest Diagnostics to enable lab orders to be sent electronically.
Physician can order the labs directly in the Visit Notes while they are in the exam room with the patient. There is no longer any need to complete any paper order forms. Simply select which test they want the lab to perform as well as select which labs they want to use (if they use more than one lab). The request can be printed out for the patient, faxed to the labs or sent electronically if HL-7 interface has been established. The “Link With” feature in the EMR Template can also trigger Lab orders.
Once requested, orders can be tracked from the Lab Orders / Tracking module. Users can view specific labs tests were ordered and when they were ordered. The module also tracks the progress of the orders by indicating the number of days since the labs have been sent.
Once the results have been received, either through mail, via the fax or electronically through the HL-7 interface, a physician can access them through the My Task screen, view the results and contact the patient, if necessary.
Lab orders / Tracking features include:
- Ability to send Lab Order electronically to Quest Diagnostics.
- Ability to Fax, Print Lab Orders to labs.
- Ability to track Labs and their status including the number of days since the request was sent.
- Ability to view and access lab results easily
- Built-in HL-7 interface allows for integration with other labs to be customized and created.
- Results received through fax or electronically can be linked immediately to the lab requests and filed into patient’s charts
- Lab results can be graphically represented on Chart View
